GIBBSVILLE is a new kind of old-fashioned shop—built in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, where jewelry, useful objects, and local stories share the same counter.
The Story Behind the Name
The name GIBBSVILLE pays tribute to Pottsville native John O’Hara, who transformed his hometown into the fictional Gibbsville in his novels and short stories. His work captured the people, ambitions, and social life of Pennsylvania’s anthracite region.

We believe the things people keep should carry a little weight: not only in the hand, but in memory. That is why GIBBSVILLE brings together fine and approachable jewelry, thoughtful repairs and redesign, vintage finds, small-run gifts, and original house pieces.
Old soul. New chapter.
The look borrows the confidence and craftsmanship of the Golden Era—newspaper type, dark wood, brass, good paper—and brings it forward in a way that feels current, welcoming, and easy to live with.
Some pieces mark a milestone. Others simply make an ordinary day more interesting. We think both deserve a place.
At the Counter
A familiar face to many in the area, Aggie brings more than 30 years of experience as a jewelry consultant. Her brother, Charlie, is GIBBSVILLE’s trusted jeweler at the bench, offering experienced guidance, repairs, redesigns, cleaning, and inspections.
Good people. Better stories. A brighter chapter ahead.
